Environmental Monitoring Project Officer
(Historic Churches) 

Context

Cheribim Ltd and The Diocese of Sheffield are proud to partner on a groundbreaking project to develop a novel means of rapidly assessing the thermal performance of historic buildings to inform and assure retrofit.  

To deliver this project, Cheribim Ltd are seeking an Environmental Monitoring Project Officer to join their team and support local churches during the project which will run from 1st August 2023 – 31st March 2025.

 

Role

The successful candidate will work closely with Cheribim’s technical team, represent the Diocese and support churches across South Yorkshire to roll out “plug-and-play”- remote environmental monitoring sensors at up to 100 historic buildings. They will work closely with the project’s Historic Buildings Physicist to produce resources and share information about historic buildings’ performance and their contribution to / approaches towards environmental sustainability.

 

You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • interested in historic buildings, community and tech

  • excited by the role they have to play in reaching Net Zero

  • an excellent communicator with outstanding organisational skills

  • perhaps with broad administrative experience

 

You need to be an adaptable learner with good attention to detail, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities are ever changing.

 

The details

This is a unique opportunity to join Cheribim, an early stage start-up working at the intersection of the historic buildings / environmental sustainability sector.

 

  • Salary depending on experience

  • Full time 37.5 hours per week (open to part-time)

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (prorated if part-time), flexible, hybrid working available

  • Based at Cheribim Offices - 5 mins from Sheffield Train Station (S1 2NS) with travel to Diocese of Sheffield, Church House Rotherham (S65 1BL) and sites across South Yorkshire

Data & UI Assistant

Role

Cheribim Ltd are seeking a Data and UI Assistant to help deliver an exciting project (finishing 31st March 2025 but the post will continue).

 

The successful candidate will work closely with the AI and Data Scientist to roll out Internet of Things (IoT) - remote environmental monitoring sensors at up to 100 historic buildings. This will involve contributing to the full IoT pipeline, from specification documentation to data visualisation in Grafana, and development of our web-app in Glide. Prior experience in these activities is not required as training will be provided for all aspects of the role.
